What is the BorderCon Charity Raffle?

Every year we select a new charity to support. Where possible we try to select a charity that affects one of our own - a member of the gaming community. In past years we have supported the Lyme Disease Association of Australia, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Haemophilia Foundation of Australia, ME/CFS Australia (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Albury-Wodonga and Beyond Blue, and Down Syndrome Victoria to name but a few.

In all we have raised almost $30,000 over the years and it is one small way that we can give back as a community.

For 2019 our nominated charity is The McGrath Foundation, in particular, helping to fund a Matastatic Breast Care Nurse for 3 Years!.

    How can I be involved?

Over the course of the weekend the BorderCon team will be selling raffle tickets for the BorderCon Raffle. Tickets are $5 each, 5 for $20, 20 for $50 and 50 for $100. We will only be handling cash so ensure you have cash on you when you come to purchase tickets.

At 1pm on Sunday we hold the raffle and draw out the winners for all the amazing prizes. We have special retail sponsors that donate some great prizes and in all we have over $1,000 worth of prizes to be won. Each winning ticket will be called out and the winner will be able to select 1 item from the prize table in the order they are drawn.

Please note you must be present to claim your prize. If no one comes forward to claim a winning ticket a redraw will take place. If a ticket is lost a replacement will not be issued, we recommend storing them in your lanyard for safekeeping.

Be a part of the fun!

We also encourage attendees to bring something along to donate to the prize table. Over the years gamers have donated games, promos, map packs, out-of-print items, gaming accessories and other game-related novelties. This year we will be creating mystery boxes with numerous smaller items to speed up the raffle and offer good value to winners. The bigger the table the greater the excitement and the more winners we are likely to have!
